How do you choose a center support system for your bed?
Start by determining what type of side rails your bed has. There are two main types of bed rails: wood and metal. If your bed has wooden side rails, select our
bed supports for beds with wood side rails. If your bed has metal side rails, choose our
bed supports for beds with metal side rails.
Do you really need additional center support for your bed?
Your mattress warranty requires proper center support. Placing a new mattress set on a bed frame with inadequate support may lead to your mattress breaking down prematurely, and it may void your mattress warranty entirely. Most mattress manufacturers require that a queen size mattress have at least one rigif center support bar with a leg to the floor. King size mattresses should also have adequate support (at least two or more center support legs to the floor.) Generally, twin and full size mattresses do not require extra center support, but if your mattress set is very heavy, it might be a good idea to add some center supports to your bed frame. Consult your mattress warranty card for additional information regarding proper bed frame support.
